Here Am I

I'm rediscovering wonderful treasures as I sort through old files. Here's another poem my oldest daughter wrote for LTC when she was just 12 years old. If you missed her first poem, you can read it here.

Here Am I

Here am I Lord

Use me to do your will.

I praise your name and open my heart

that only you with love can fill.

I want to be a shining light

in a world that is dark with sin,

as I stand beside you and tell the good news

that brings joy and hope to men.

Here am I Lord,

help me control my selfish ways.

I want to serve you by serving those

I cross paths with every day.

Lord, humble my heart

and make me always aware,

of those who need a moment or two

I may find the time to spare.

Here am I Lord,

I come to you in thankful prayer.

I have been greatly blessed and I promise

with others I will share.

Putting others needs before my own

is the best way I know to teach

your love and sacrifice for all mankind

and hopefully other hearts reach.
